Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Two years after the events in "Final Fantasy VII", a disease called 'Seikon-Shoukougun', or 'Geostigma', is spreading through the planet. This disease is believed to have been caused by the body fighting off foreign material that invaded the body two years earlier, at the end of "Final Fantasy VII". Guilt-ridden and haunted by his past, ex-SOLDIER Cloud Strife has decided to live a secluded, solitary life away from his friends while maintaining "Strife's Delivery Service", whose headquarters is located in Tifa Lockheart's bar, the Seventh Heaven. Tifa's bar serves as an orphanage for children stricken with Geostigma. Here, Tifa keeps an eye on Barret's six-year-old daughter, Marlene, while Barret searches the planet for an alternative energy source to the Planet's energy, Mako. One day, Cloud receives a phone call from the former Shinra, Inc. president, Rufus, asking him for protection from a mysterious man named Kadaj. Kadaj, in the meantime, along with his brothers Loz and Yazoo, are searching for their "mother", and seem to believe that Cloud knows where to find her. Meanwhile, Vincent Valentine has been wandering the planet gathering information on Kadaj's scheme, and Cloud and his friends must come together again to fight these new enemies.

Come dite?

Biografia:
No other film director has been so much vituperated against as Albert Pyun. Frequently compared with Edward D. Wood Jr., they both share a fascination for the bizarre. Pyun has a feel for the stylistic and hypnotic, changing the conventions of fiction, and makes each of his movies extreme experiences.Unintentionally born in San Diego, he was later brought up in Hawaii, and his Hawaiian childhood was illuminated by an unending movie consumption that would turn him into a guest of the cinemas regularly used by the marines from the Kaneohe military base, where awful horror movies and tacky action films were massively projected. And at the age of nine, Pyun started shooting short films with an 8mm camera borrowed from his parents. At sixteen he embarked his mates into gang movies that he later revealed underground, while working at night as editor, sound technician or electrician for local laboratories.Following his graduation, at eighteen he traveled to Japan. Once there, supported by Toshirô Mifune, he succeeded in getting hired as a trainee of the great Akira Kurosawa. Back in the Estates, he shot over three hundred adverts. Taking advantage on the revival of the sword & sandal gender fostered by John Milius' Conan the Barbarian (1982), he obtained funding for The Sword and the Sorcerer (1982). Probably one of his less loathed films, a visual fest, extremely pulp, although with a touch of gore not suitable for all. Its unexpected success would raise the interest of Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, the owners of Cannon Films, a flashy producing company.Under the Cannon seal, Pyum would complete some of his most widespread films such as Cyborg (1989), a vehicle for the up-and-coming martial arts actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, it was initially conceived as a heavy opera without dialogue, shot in granulated black and white, but the proposal encountered the refusal of producers, opposed to this kind of avant-garde displays. In 1993, Pyun made another movie on cyborgs, Nemesis (1993), where scenes of gunfests prevail over martial arts, compared to his previous movies. It has a great cast of brute actors (and actresses), and is pre-empting the cyberpunk aesthetics of later movies. Its success would give way for three sequels, progressively vast, jointly shot in a flicker with an imaginary budget. He usually has to overcome budget shortages, re-editing and other kind of damage caused by producers and distributors intendingto bury his authorship. The swiftness of his shooting of movies gives way for an avant-garde exploration, and Albert Pyun belongs to that lineage of film makers not appreciated as it should. To define Pyun, we could call him a sort of Jean-Luc Godard from the B (or Z) series. Albert Pyun has completed more than forty films over the worst circumstances.Pyun's creative restraints has frequently pushed him to shoot two films at once. While completing a project with a more or less assured budget (never generous though), he takes advantage from locations and technical teams to shoot undercover an "author's fancy", sometimes in just two or three days.Pyun has hardly ever controlled the final editing of his films, but he always shoots in scope format, with anamorphic and wide-angle lenses, in an attempt to emulate the shot compositions and usage of framing of his master, Sergio Leone. Re-edited by producers and re-framed to satisfy the television and video market requests, a large part of Pyun films magic has gone missing. Eager to preserve the originality of his work, Pyun created the production company Filmwerks in 1994, through which he will finance a handful of titles representing an illustrative summary of his unique and captivating art.Despite some reverses and bashes, Pyun has manage to complete Infection (2005), a film where he finally has been able to exert full control, and recovers his avant-garde impulse along with his hectic creativity. Once more, Pyun leaves the spectator in a shock following a display of his technical skill: this time, the focus is on the shooting of a definitively psychotronic plot in real time and on one sequence-shot.Albert Pyun is already working on new projects that he describes with his characteristic enthusiasm: "Cool Air", an adaptation of Lovecraft currently in an editing stage; a remake of Mean Guns on a Faustian tone; he is even considering the making of a surrealistic western, "Left for Dead", that he is to shoot simultaneously with "War Zone", a bellicose nightmare.
Trivia random: Writers trademark: The character 'Brick Bardo' was used by Pyun in 7 of his earlier films (Radioactive Dreams (1985), Alien from L.A. (1988), Deceit (1989), Cyborg (1989), Bloodmatch (1991), Dollman (1991) and Nemesis III: Prey Harder (1996) (V)), and also in his more recent film, Infection (2005). The character is played twice by Tim Thomerson, Scott Paulin and Christian Andrews, and once by Thom Mathews and Ralph Moeller.

Biografia:
In January of 1991 a film titled Reservoir Dogs (1992) hit the Sundance Film festival. The writer-director was a first-timer by the name of Quentin Tarantino. The film garnered critical acclaim and the director became a legend in the England, UK and the cult film circuit. Three years later he followed up 'Dogs' with the film Pulp Fiction (1994). 'Pulp' premiered at the Cannes film festival, where it won the coveted 'Palme D'Or' the virtual equal of the Best Picture at the Academy Awards. At the '93 Academy Awards, 'Pulp' was nominated for the Best Picture Oscar, in addition Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, among others. Tarantino and writing partner Roger Avary came away with the award only for Best Original Screenplay. (Where Roger uttered his now famous line, "I've gotta go pee".) In 1995, Tarantino directed one fourth of the Anthology Four Rooms (1995) with friends and fellow auteurs Alexandre Rockwell, Robert Rodriguez, and Allison Anders. That film was released on December 25th in the United States to very weak reviews. This is mainly due to the heavy cutting of the first two segments and the introduction which make much of the plotline unintelligible, and creates a complete mess out of the second segment, directed by Alexandre Rockwell. The best two segments of the film are Robert Rodriguez's and Tarantino's. Tarantino's next film was From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), a crime/vampire film which he wrote and co-starred with George Clooney. The film did fairly well theatrically.

The film did fairly well theatrically.

the graveyard

Biografia:
Peter Cushing was born in 1913 in Kenley, Surrey, England. He and his older brother David were raised first in Dulwich Village, a south London suburb, and then later back in Surrey by his mother Nellie Marie and father George Edward, who was a quantity surveyor. At an early age Cushing was attracted to acting, inspired by his favorite aunt, who was a stage actress. While at school Cushing pursued his acting interest in acting and also drawing, a talent he put to good use later in his first job as a government surveyor's assistant in Surrey. At this time he also dabbled in local amateur theater until moving to London to attend the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on scholarship. He then performed in repertory theater, deciding in 1939 to head for Hollywood, where he made his film debut in The Man in the Iron Mask (1939). Other Hollywood films included A Chump at Oxford (1940) with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, Vigil in the Night (1940) and They Dare Not Love (1941). However, after a short stay, he returned to England by way of New York (making brief appearances on Broadway) and Canada. Back in his homeland he contributed to the war effort during World War II by joining the Entertainment National Services Association. After the war he performed in the West End and had his big break appearing with Laurence Olivier in Hamlet (1948), in which Cushing's future partner-in-horror Christopher Lee had a bit part. Both actors also appeared in Moulin Rouge (1952) but didn't meet until their later horror films. During the 1950s Cushing became a familiar face on British television, appearing in numerous teleplays, such as 1984 (1954) (TV) and Beau Brummell (1954) (TV), until the end of the decade when he began his legendary association with Hammer Film Productions in its remakes of the 1930s Universal horror classics. His first Hammer roles included Dr. Frankenstein in The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), Dr. Van Helsing in Dracula (1958) and Sherlock Holmes in The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959).Cushing continued playing the roles of Drs. Frankenstein and Van Helsing, as well as taking on other horror characters, in Hammer films over the next 20 years. He also appeared in films for the other major horror producer of the time, Amicus Productions, including Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965) and its later horror anthologies, a couple of Dr. Who films (1965, 1966), I, Monster (1971), and others. By the mid-1970s these companies had stopped production, but Cushing, firmly established as a horror star, continued in the genre for some time thereafter.Perhaps his best-known appearance outside of horror films was as Grand Moff Tarkin in George Lucas' phenomenally successful science fiction film Star Wars (1977). Biggles (1986) (aka "Biggles: Adventures in Time") was Cushing's last film before his retirement, during which he made a few television appearances, wrote two autobiographies and pursued his hobbies of bird watching and painting. In 1989 he was made an Officer of the British Empire in recognition of his contributions to the acting profession in Britain and worldwide.

Trivia random: In Italy, R2-D2 was renamed C1-P8 while Darth Vader became Dart Fener, the reason being that "Vader" in Italian sounds too close to the common noun for the toilet bowl (the "water", clearly from the English "water closet"). The "clones" mentioned by Obi-Wan Kenobi became "quotes" (Italian: "cloni"/"quoti").

Trivia random: Considered The Blood Beast Terror (1968) to be the worst film he ever made.

Venturesome Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and dashing Captain Han Solo (Harrison Ford) team together with the lovable robotic duo, R2-D2 and C-3PO, to rescue the beautiful princess and restore justice in the Empire.
Citazione random: Princess Leia: [in a holo message] General Kenobi: Years ago, you served my father in the Clone Wars; now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father's request to you in person; but my ship has fallen under attack and I'm afraid my mission to Alderaan has failed. I've placed information vital to the survival of the rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it.

Mr. Incredible is a superhero; or he used to be, until a surge of lawsuits against superheroes submitted by the people they've saved forced the government to hide them in witness protection programs so they could lead normal, anonymous lives. ghost in the shell: innocence
Voto: 9.

Batô is a living cyborg. His whole body, even his arms and legs, are entirely man-made. What only remains are traces of his brain and the memories of a woman. In an era when the boundary between humans and machines has become infinitely vague, Humans have forgotten that they are humans. This is the debauchery of the lonesome ghost of a man, who nevertheless seeks to retain humanity. Innocence... Is what life is.
Trivia random: When Batou and Togusa are exploring Kim's mansion, Batou finds a figure that resembles Motoko Kusanagi's appearance from Kôkaku kidôtai (1995), along with a row of numbered cards reading "2501". In the original Ghost in the Shell, Project 2501 was the code name given to the Puppet Master project and became the code Batou and Kusanagi agreed to use when they wanted to contact one another.
Citazione random: [first title cards]: In a future time when most human thought has been accelerated by artificial intelligence and external memory can be shared on a universal matrix, Batou, an agent of the elite Section 9 Security Force and a being so artificially modified as to be essentially cyborg, is assigned, along with his mostly human partner, Togusa, to investigate a series of gruesome murders.

These are cyborgs with incredible strengths and abilities that can access any network on Earth.
Trivia random: First anime film to be released at the same time in Japan, Britain, and the United States. Its intended goal was to bring anime to a more mainstream audience in the UK and the US. It didn't, but it did become a sleeper hit on video and DVD.
Citazione random: Major Motoko Kusanagi: I mean, have you ever actually seen your brain?
