La risposta cinematografica al debellamento del vaiolo! 
Ennesimo rifacimento occidentale di un film del filone horror giapponese, ed ennesima catastrofe.
Il fidanzato di
Veronica Mars - forse sconvolto dall'acuto contrasto tra due tettine sode-sode ed un visetto innocentissimo - pensa bene di suicidarsi. I suoi amici, traumatizzati ma neanche poi tanto, iniziano ad avere visioni di fantasmi ed a ricevere messaggi dal morto via sms, computer, radio, tv, forno a microonde e chi più ne ha più ne metta.
Indagando su questi strani fenomeni giungeranno ad una sconvolgente verità, mentre quella che pare una epidemia di follia collettiva si diffonde a macchia d'olio in tutto il mondo.
Alla fine, tutti avranno ciò che si meteritano, compreso l'incauto spettatore.
"Brutto" non rende l'idea; sbagliato secondo tutti i canoni del cinema qui tutto è davvero pessimo: regia, sceneggiatura, dialoghi riprovevoli e recitazione imbarazzante. Fin dal primo minuto l'interesse per le vicende dei protagonisti è sotto lo zero ed i 90 minuti del film sembrano eterni.

Kairo che fa parte del mazzo dell'horror orientale che tanti film tutti ugalmente mediocri ci ha regalato. C'è chi dice che l'originale sia bello, ma molti hanno il coraggio di definire bello anche
Ringu che, personalmente, valuto diverso dal (mediocre) remake
The Ring solo perché è stato fatto con meno soldi ed attori peggiori (pensa un po').

Trivia random: The shot of a woman leaping off the side of a building is a relatively simple combination of careful editing, computer graphics, and stunt work. As director Kiyoshi Kurosawa explains it, a stunt-woman was filmed bungee jumping off the rooftop, followed by a dummy dressed in the same clothes; the two shots were edited together and the bungee cord digitally erased.
