Dopo tanti filmacci d'azione, era giusto concedersi un filmaccio adolescenzial-pruriginoso: e
Cherry Falls non ha deluso!
La letizia regna sovrana nella ridente cittadina di
Cherry Falls: gli adolescenti limonano felici (anche se più in là dell'annusarla sembra non si possa proprio andare) nelle loro automobilone americane, amorevolmente supervisionati dai genitori (si vede che ad una certa età si diventa contemplativi...)
Presto a turbare l'idillio arriva un simpatico serial-killer che ammazza le coppiette, concentrandosi esclusivamente su verginelli e verginelle.
Ora anche la piccola
Brittany Murphy (che ha fatto del tirarsela un hobby, uno sport, un'arte ed un mestiere) si sente in pericolo! La sua unica speranza è che
il babbo sceriffo - che già ha combattuto degnamente il
Terminator - catturi il mariuolo, prima di perdere tante cose importanti tutte in una volta (non ultima,
la pellaccia).
Efficiente quanto la pubblica amministrazione italiana, la polizia locale combina ben poco e l'assassino miete vittime a dozzine. E qui i liceali dimostrano un acume fuor del comune: se l'assassino colpisce solo i vergini (ed in misura minore i capricorno), l'unica via d'uscita è organizzare una mega-festa con orgietta monogama a seguire, onde risolvere alla radice il problema!
Pure genius...
Da qui in poi il film peggiora, e si svela un improbabile plot fatto di stupri, ubriachezza molesta e vecchi rancori di cui - francamente - non ci riesce proprio di interessarci.
I film adolescenziali sono sempre una garanzia, e questo non fa eccezione: da tenere d'occhio il trans-killer che in alcune inquadrature ricorda
Iiigor, l'ingorgo sulle scale per fuggire dalla festa ed - in generale - la disarmante stupidità manifestata da tutti. Ragguardevoli le prove attoriali.
Il regista è da tenere d'occhio, perché dimostra un notevole tocco per il trash moderno e patinato.
