Los Angeles, 1928:
Walter Collins, bambino di 9 anni che vive da solo con la madre, scompare nel nulla. Dopo alcuni mesi la polizia, già sotto accusa per la sua incompetenza, corruzione e violenza, riporta alla madre un bambino che somiglia moltissimo a Walter, e che addirittura sostiene d'essere lui.
La madre però non lo riconosce e, nonostante l'evidenza dei fatti, la polizia insiste per considerare chiuso il caso, arrivando ad accusarla di pazzia.
La verità sarà molto più complessa e truce.
Con
Changeling Clint Eastwood dirige
il film più allegro di ogni epoca: nulla finisce in meno che catastrofe e la sorte si accanisce contro chiunque. Drammatico e spietato al limite dell'atroce, il film si ispira a un fatto vero sul quale il buon
Straczynski fa un eccelso lavoro di sceneggiatura e dialoghi.
Due ore e venti di dramma ben interpretato da una brava
Angelina Jolie (che in manicomio si sente sempre a casa
), col supporto del classico
John Malkovich - ad onor del vero gli altri interpreti mi hanno lasciato un po' più freddino, fatto salvo per
Jason Butler Harner ed i ragazzini scelti con acume.
Pesantissimo per tema e trattamento, Clint si conferma regista pulito ed impeccabile (non una inquadratura che sia meno che perfetta), che si prende il suo tempo e lo usa al meglio.
A voler cercare il pelo nell'uovo, il dialogo conclusivo è un po' troppo banale e "telefonato", ma poco importa: il valore dell'opera resta tutto (a dispetto dei critici americani, che lo hanno bistrattato).
Immenso zio Clint.

Eastwood may have been too young to fight in World War II, but he managed to miss out on action in Korea too. On leave as a G.I., his plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean and steely-eyed Clint swam three miles to shore. son contento che sto film sia bello, dal trailer aveva dato una buona impressione anche a me... peccato che abbia preso come protagonista la solita labbrona, non è degna di sto tipo di cinema secondo me...
ps: vedrò anche il remake de "La piccola bottega degli orrori" a sto punto! :D
Alla fine non ci fa neanche una brutta figura; va detto che gran parte della recitazione è affidata a rossetto e boccoloni anni '20. ;-)
infatti quando vidi il trailer non la riconobbi! :D dai che magari mascherata così riesco a guardarlo sto film senza neanche accorgermi che c'è lei dentro
